Take Your Compass #12 - Marxist Terror Special Part Three
Signs, signs…
I cannot overstate the importance of being able to recognize the signs. I am an eye witness to an AFA action in Durham, North Carolina. It was so crazy, my employer closed up and we exited the building through a back door. No one was hurt, but my employer’s business was damaged. The events were all over the news, at least locally. I do not recall if the national media covered it. I don’t think they did.
Something about the news coverage was disturbing to me. The studio news people would ask the street reporters, “who are these people? are they part of a group? any organization?” The answer was always NO, as if it was a spontaneous, unorganized turnout. Even when they found someone to ask, the answer was “no” along with something like, “we’re just people against racism, against white supremacy, no group, no organization, we just came out!” And all the media folk took that as an honest answer.
Okay… where did the flags and banners come from? People were, literally, marching back and forth in front of the cameras with flags and signs. There was a pre-made organization flag. Not a flag painted up that morning. Not a flag you can run down to Walmart and buy, and not one single mainstream media outlet bothered to identify this flag or the other signs and tell their viewers what they were.
You have now seen some of these signs through this series, and should be able to recognize them. There is one I have not shown you yet, the organization flag I mentioned above. That flag was all over Durham during that time period. That flag, at least, the media should have been curious about, and should have told you what it was. You need to recognize it, but it is not yet time to bring it in. Keep following, we’ll get there!
Welcome to part three. Please read part one and part two before preceding with part three. You will not have the necessary information for this part without reading what came before.

AFA: Reminder that I am using AFA as an umbrella acronym for all the violent Marxist groups.
CONTENT WARNING!
Make no mistake, no matter how good an individual AFA inclined person might be, the movement is dangerous, corrupt, and evil. Going forward we are going to get into current events and actions here in the US. You may find the AFA methods and imagery disturbing.
I hope my government is not monitoring my internet activity or your activity. They should not be. However, if you read my work here, or go to the links, or search for information about these groups and their tactics online, it is not out of the realm of possibility that you could end up on some watch list.
I was creeped out by the “rabbit holes” that I went down researching this. These are dangerous people.
AFA considers themselves the heroes of their worldview and actions. They believe they are the ‘good guys.’ They are not. We could be somewhat sympathetic with them because some of what they oppose really is bad. The trouble is, everything AFA is for is just as bad as what they oppose.
Author’s note: I am against fascism. I am also against Antifa. The difference is that I am against ALL fascism. I am against Nazis, Racists, Atheists, Socialists, Marxists, and every flavor of Communism. I am against using terror and chaos to manipulate people.
The Anarchists
I held off mentioning the Anarchists in part one, and only mentioned them in passing in part two. I wanted you to see the elements of Anarchy without it specifically being named. The Anarchists go hand-in-glove with the AFA movement.
There are several types of Anarchists. They tend to believe they are the ultimate pure form of Communism. No classes, no God, no Rulers, no government, just pure autonomy with everyone living in voluntary free association.
Be nice, huh? There is a good word for this, it is called hell. Hell on earth is what all societies that throw out God and objective moral order always become. The concept of Anarchy goes all the way back to the Serpent whispering in Eve’s ear.
Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?”
Genesis 3:1
Like Marxism/Communism no version of Anarchy has ever worked. It is possible that you might run into a proponent of Anarchy, with actual knowledge, who will claim that a version of Anarchy did work in Spain in the late 1930s. It didn’t. It was never peaceful. Owners had their businesses taken from them. It was a disaster. The different groups of Anarchists, Communists, and Socialists could not even stop fighting with each other.
Covering the Anarchists fully would require another series. Fortunately for me the Anarchists love their symbols like the rest of the AFA, so if you can recognize their symbology, you will know what you are seeing, and what kind of ideology is being pushed.
Anarchist Symbols
Circle A:
Circle A Stylized Red:
Any kind of ‘Circle A’ you see is likely to represent some kind of Anarchists.
Red Flag:
Black Flag:
Red/Black Flag, does not matter which color is on top or which way the diagonal goes:
The original red/black flag was most likely this one form the Spanish Civil War era (Anarchist party initials):
Black Cat:
The black cat is a sneaky one. I will come back to it in a future part, tie it in, and explain its significance.
You should recall this common AFA symbol from part one. It has the red flag and black flag at its heart:
AFA is not always Anarchist, but the Anarchists are aligned with AFA. Often they are indistinguishable.
The “NOs” of Anarchy
Almost all forms of anarchy have a set of “NOs” that are essential to the ideology. I think it is safe to say that these “NOs” apply to every form whether they claim it or not. The “NOs” are:
No God
No State
No Government
No Laws
No Borders
No Banks
German bus station 2022:
Black Bloc
The photographer who took the picture above described it as “Black bloc participants running at the 2008 Republican National Convention in St. Paul, Minnesota.”
That is not accurate. The group is clearly AFA and Anarchist. ‘Black Bloc’ is more of a tactic or method than a group. An AFA group might refer to themselves as a Black Bloc for a particular action. If AFA is expecting trouble at one of their actions, or if they want to cause more trouble they normal, they will do a ‘Black Bloc.’
Black Bloc tactics and methods, taken directly from an Anarchist website:
Dress in all black.
Cover everything: face, hair, tattoos, piercings.
Carry a black backpack/bag. Have clothing changes in the bag.
Wear different layers for different for different purposes or stages of the action.
Carry your own water and food.
Defensive gear: banners, shields (possibly disguised as puppets or placards), steeltoed shoes (should still be comfortable for running!), body armor or padding, gas masks or goggles and bandannas soaked in lime juice (store in ziplock bags until necessary), rain coats or chemical protection gear (if there is a risk of chemical attack), whatever relevant medical supplies you know how to apply, etc.Offensive gear: spraypaint, projectiles, slingshots, signs or flags on thick poles (or just plain poles), molotov cocktails, bright lights (to obscure police or camera vision during night actions), ladders and/or bolt cutters for scaling or breaching barriers, etc.
Communications equipment: hand radios, cell phones, police scanners, flags, drums, shared codes for making internal announcements.
Transportation: bicycles, enough change for the subway.
Continuing from the same source:
…the Bloc can serve many purposes. It can be present as a promise of solidarity, or a threat. It can act as a line of defense for or a distraction from other activists doing civil disobedience actions such as lock-downs and blockades, who will be unable to defend themselves from the police.
It can engage in property destruction: this can achieve economic ends, such as inflicting financial losses upon wicked corporations, or other practical goals: a city can be persuaded never to risk hosting another fill-in-the-blank, or alienated workers (and even activists!) can experience firsthand that the stranglehold their oppressors seem to have on reality can literally be broken.
A Bloc can attempt to prevent delegates from reaching an unwanted meeting, or trap them inside the meeting space to make sure they get the message that their shenanigans are not welcome. It can reclaim urban space, opening up and protecting a street or park for others to reinterpret and enjoy, or rerouting a permitted march into unpermitted areas. It can engage the police in conflict, and thus disrupt business as usual…
It can offer the possibility of contesting power and control in immediate actions, rather than mere words, and thus keep spirits up and appetites whetted. A Bloc might attempt to set off full-scale rioting, in hope of precipitating an insurrection—or it could simply create a spectacle, to emphasize the anarchist presence and foreground its romantic appeal: liberal carping about “alienating the public” notwithstanding, the Black Blocs in Seattle and afterwards did as much to increase the mass appeal of anarchist action as any propaganda publication ever has.
If nothing else, a Bloc action can be good practice for future such actions that may achieve more.
I am not linking or sourcing this material here. If you really want to see it for yourself do an internet search on “anarchist zine.” Be warned that you may end up going down some dark holes.
Notice the integration in the photo above, “Antifa Anarchist Bloc.” They do differ sometimes, but in practice AFA and Anarchists are highly overlapping groups. Often there are the exact same people.
Here is the photo again from the top, study it:
This is from 2020 in Portland Oregon during the violent riots. Several elements of what you have learned so far are in this photo: red flag, red/black flag, Anarchy symbols, Iron Front symbols, and obvious Black Bloc tactics. The eight point compass-rose on the black banner I am not sure about. I have a clue, but I will need to research it. The AK-47 on the white banner is not common, as far as I know, in these actions, but it is commonly seen as the firearm of choice of Marxist revolutionaries.
This is not mere protest. These people caused more than 2.3 million dollars in damage just in Portland. These people do not want changes in our government. They do not want to vote in different people. They want to overthrow our government. How do we know? They tell us. They are not hiding. They are in plain sight. They are violent Marxist revolutionaries.
Signs, signs, everywhere a sign…
We still have a ways to go on this journey. You have seen AFA in the USA, but we skipped over its history and background in the US. That is coming, along with some other groups that will tie in, and those pesky ‘Internationals’ that I hinted about, they are like a black cat that keeps crossing our path.
If you have any questions, shoot me an email!
Thank you for reading, and God Bless!
