Take Your Compass #15 - Marxist Terror Special Part Six
Welcome to part six. Please read the previous parts. You will not have the necessary information for this part without reading what came before. Part one is here.
AFA: Reminder that I am using AFA as an umbrella acronym for all the violent Marxist groups.
CONTENT WARNING!
See my full warning in part three. For brevity I will not repeat here.
Author’s note: I am against fascism. I am also against Antifa. The difference is that I am against ALL fascism. I am against Nazis, Racists, Atheists, Socialists, Marxists, and every flavor of Communism. I am against using terror and chaos to manipulate people.
AFA Today
Now that we have established a base of history and knowledge we can look at modern AFA in the United States.
AFA Symbology
Let us start with the symbols. I cannot say it is a 100% certainty, but I will say that anytime you see a gathering of AFA or AFA type people, somewhere there will be a symbol that gives away who they are. Even if they are trying to peddle a nice message they need to identify themselves. Due to the way they organize, or do not organize, they need symbols to recognize each other. Case in point, I was watching a news channel yesterday and they showed video of a pro-Palestinian protest against Israel. The flags were all Palestinian. Then there was a banner, another banner, and then the third banner was a bingo! It had a red clenched fist.
Compare the modern logo to the original below. The color flip is insignificant as far as I know. The color pattern varies: red/black, black/red, all red, all black, and occasionally other colors may leak in. The wording may also vary. Regardless, the ‘two flags’ AFA logos are easy to spot.
Anti-Racist / Torch Network, you probably will not see this one in the wild. It is more of an umbrella group, and it’s more likely that members and allies would be using a simpler and more broadly recognized symbol. It is still important to recognize if you do see it.
The Three Arrows is a common AFA symbol, many colors, many styles, based on the old Iron Front arrows we looked at in part one.
The fist, of course, is common, many colors and styles.
The red star is not common today, but you will see it occasionally. Could be a yellow star, particularly if the background is red.
The red rose is an old and common communist symbol. The one above is the current logo of the Democratic Socialists of America. The one below is the old, French, Socialist emblem.
I am seeing the red rose more often. It can be subtle. The rose can be red, or white on red background. It may be just a rose, or combined with a fist or clasped hands. Of course, a red rose may just be a red rose, but you will know it is a communist rose when you see it in its context.
The commie Hammer and Sickle. Considering how blatant this one is, you would think that you would not see it a lot, but it’s there. Usually not a primary symbol, but I see it often. Like the star, it could be yellow with a red background.
The hammer is supposed to represent the industrial worker. The sickle represents the peasant or farm worker. There are many communist logos that take the ‘hammer’ and pair it with something else, often another tool. If you see a machinist style hammer overlapped with another implement, it is most likely a communist symbol.
The idiom “Hammer and Tongs” is also connected to communism. To do something “Hammer and Tongs” means with great force, serious intent, possible violence and/or the capability of harm.
“Hammer and Tongs” is the internal publication of the Socialist Party USA. You can read #1 from 1965 here: https://archive.org/details/HammerTongs19651/
It was a fascinating read for me. You can read the notes about ‘Cadre Organization.’ This was the beginning of how all these groups get organized without a central organizing structure.
Other Symbols
You can review the previous parts for other symbols. I started to repeat a few here, but it’s too much. I will repeat just one:
The ‘Circle A’ is everywhere in a variety of forms. It’s a dead giveaway.
I cannot keep up with these ‘Internationals.’ I had to go back and edit Part Five. I forgot to put in the Socialist Party USA, and it is a big one that I should have remembered. I was just reading one of their pamphlets. Part Five with the update is here.
AFA Organization
I was going to start AFA organization here, but I am going to move it back to the next part. These pieces just keep getting bigger. We are getting close to a conclusion. Thanks for following this far.
AFA In Action
I leave you with a few images:
The use of the Three Arrows imagery demonstrates two things that I routinely say about Antifa/AFA:
They believe they are connected to the past anti-fascist groups. They are merely “picking up the torch” and continuing the historic fight.
They believe #1, but actually have no historical knowledge. If they had knowledge of the Iron Front and the actual meaning of the Three Arrows, they would not use the symbol. Upon research, I had to add a number 3:
Some, not many, AFA know exactly what the history of the Three Arrows means but they simply ignore it, or they blatantly lie about it (gaslight). Instead of anti-Marxism they change the arrows to mean something different.
The Iron Front was opposed to Fascism, Monarchism, and Marxism. That was literally what the three arrows meant:
So today you will see out-and-out Marxists using the Three Arrows, and you will even see it simultaneously with the Hammer and Sickle, red star, etc.
Above is a repeat of the image I used at the top. This one is original size. You can open it in a new tab/window and zoom in to read the signs. Remember that to understand them, we must know what they are FOR not merely what they are against.
See you next time.
