Take Your Compass #17 - Marxist Terror Special Part Eight
Welcome to part eight. Please read the previous parts. You will not have the necessary information for this part without reading what came before. Part one is here.
AFA: Reminder that I am using AFA as an umbrella acronym for all the violent Marxist groups.
CONTENT WARNING!
See my full warning in part three. For brevity I will not repeat here.
Author’s note: I am against fascism. I am also against Antifa. The difference is that I am against ALL fascism. I am against Nazis, Racists, Atheists, Socialists, Marxists, and every flavor of Communism. I am against using terror and chaos to manipulate people.
AFA Organization
How does AFA organize yet remain unorganized?
The revolutionaries of the 1960s laid the groundwork. I refer you back to the ‘Hammer and Tongs’ that I mentioned in a previous part. Hammer and Tongs was, and still is, the internal publication of the Socialist Party USA. You can read #1 from 1965 here: https://archive.org/details/HammerTongs19651/ There you will find the notes about ‘Cadre Organization.’ This was the beginning of how all these groups get organized without a central organizing structure.
I am not sure if the term ‘cadre organization’ is still used. The modern term is ‘affinity group.’ An AFA affinity group is a group of people who share the common objective of revolution. Affinity groups are sometimes described as being groups of ‘like-minded’ people. I think that is an error. Some definitely are, but as you have learned here AFA types can have vastly different thinking, even opposition to each other. The one thing that brings them together is their desire for revolution. They can deal with their differences later.
The AFA website crimethincDOTcom goes into detail about affinity groups and tactics. I am not giving them a direct link through here. If you want to visit, copy the link and replace the DOT with an actual “ . ” and paste into a new browser tab. (I don’t recommend visiting AFA sites.)
From crimethincDOTcom:
This leaderless format has proven effective for guerrilla activities of all kinds, as well as what the RAND Corporation calls “swarming” tactics in which many unpredictable autonomous groups overwhelm a centralized adversary. You should go to every demonstration in an affinity group, with a shared sense of your goals and capabilities. If you are in an affinity group that has experience taking action together, you will be much better prepared to deal with emergencies and make the most of unexpected opportunities.
Affinity groups can form ‘clusters’ in order to affect the ‘swarming’ tactic.
After reading Andy Ngo’s book Unmasked, mentioned in the previous part, I see there is more evidence of larger radical political organizations working to assist and organize AFA. The International Workers of the World is certainly doing this. The Democratic Socialists of America, and the Revolutionary Communist Party have a hand in it too.
Groups or clusters planning large actions will create ‘spokes-councils’ for coordination. Groups will send representatives to negotiate the tactics and goals of the action.
There is no single organization and no hierarchy which helps AFA avoid police and law enforcement investigations. It is by design that AFA has no central or outer structure. They intentionally want that appearance. They want anonymity and plausible deniability for the foot soldiers. It is easy to recruit people when they know there is little chance for them to be caught, and less chance to be prosecuted.
Affinity groups include support groups that are not directly involved in actions. These groups may provide medical services or free food. Free food is a tactic to bring in volunteers, draw in vagrants to increase numbers and add to the chaos, and also to provide favorable news stories and photos.
‘Riot Ribs’ in Oregon was/is one such assistance group.
Riot Ribs was a pop-up kitchen that cooked hot meals. … Riot Ribs was one of the most successful Portland antifa mutual aid groups during the summer. It raised more than $330,000 but suddenly dissolved overnight in July 2020 and disappeared, along with the money. - Ngo, Andy. Unmasked: Inside Antifa's Radical Plan to Destroy Democracy (p. 3)
Other support groups might supply gear like shields, sticks, umbrellas, and frozen bottles of water. Frozen water bottles make for very innocent looking weapons.
Actual photo from crimethincDOTcom:
They always have their innocent dupes, but AFA knows exactly what they are doing and how to organize. Do not let their propaganda fool you, or the media’s complicity.
Odds and Ends
AFA will uses Venmo, Cash App, and GoFundMe to raise funds.
The IWW that I explained to you previously has a stronger and more direct connection to AFA groups that I knew. They are definitely using their resources to support AFA.
There is large ‘Lawfare’ network of left-wing lawyers that will help AFA causes. Lawfare is a devious scheme that I may need to do an article on in the future.
Pretending to be press
Rose City Antifa (RCA) has a huge recruitment and training program. It’s safe to assume they are still in full operation.
In my previous piece outlining the tenets of Marxism and Fascism I forgot one. Both have secret police, and/or an openly terrorizing police force. Examples: KGB in the Soviet Union, and the Stasi in communist Germany. Even the pop-up AFA mini communities like the “autonomous zone” that was allowed for a while in Portland Oregon very quickly develop a frightening enforcement arm.
Next Week
I am going to briefly review what we have leaned, give you a bunch of visuals, another name or two of people driving this insanity, and my closing thoughts.
